Triton 850 Triumph 8 Valve Special

This is one unique motorcycle, starting it’s life as a Triton being caught on camera in St Ives during the summer of 1966, this photo then went on to be featured on the cover of Mike Clay’s book ‘Cafe Racers’ It was obvious she was destined for fame!

It’s transformation into the fire breathing machine you see today started in 1984.

Over the next few years it grew into a huge 850cc with beefed up crank and Weslake 8v cylinder head sporting 34mm MK11 Amals, belt drive and a JMC swing arm. It ran a best quarter mile time of 11.65 seconds @118mph setting a new track record for over 500cc classics at the annual Blackpool sprint. This was reported in Classic Bike magazine in 1997. Around that time it was also featured in many other motorcycling publications.

After nearly 20 years in hiding we have unearthed this iconic British special, ready for her new owner to write the next chapter.
