In 1971, Kawasaki’s original Mach III triple was joined by a trio of three-cylinder models: the 750 H2, 250 S1 and 350 S2. The latter two were virtually identical, the S2 differing from its smaller sibling only by its larger bore and carburettors, and shorter wheelbase. Performance-wise the S2 did not disappoint with its 115mph top speed and 13.9-second standing quarter-mile. Equally importantly, the handling was much improved over the original Mach III’s. The S2 was superseded by the 400cc S3 in 1973 and is a relative rarity today.
