1962 Triumph 5TA 

Stunning condition 1962 Triumph 5TA with the half bathtub / bikini fairing. These little bathtubs have really grown in popularity in recent years, and to find one with the original steel panels and matching frame and engine numbers like this one is a rarity. The previous owner has carried out a full restoration in recent years, as you can see from the pictures and videos the baby Triumph runs and rides as well as she looks!

Introduced in September 1958, the 5TA Speed Twin was the second of Triumph’s new family of unitary construction vertical twins, joining the 350cc Twenty One/3TA launched the previous year. The 500 closely followed the lines of its 350 predecessor, there being little to distinguish it mechanically apart from a larger bore, raised gearing and larger-section rear tyre. The controversial but now highly collectable ‘bathtub and later Bikini half Bathtub’ rear enclosure introduced on the Twenty One was retained and the Speed Twin came finished in the model’s traditional Amaranth Red, later to be expanded to a whole host of colour combinations.
