BSA A10 Watsonian Avon sidecar 1954

Excellent example of BSA’s 1954 A10 650 plunger, benefitting from a historic full SRM engine rebuild and covering minimal miles since it runs excellently as can be seen in the running & riding video. The A10 is fitted with a period correct Watsonian avon super sports sidecar, ‘this sporting but elegant sidecar has an exceptionally roomy body, the long dash and door are in one piece and double hinged to give easy access’ as quoted from Watsonians brochure (see the gallery pictures for the full spiel) Road tested and serviced the BSA is ready for the next owner.

A new 650cc twin joined BSA’s 500cc A7 model in 1949, the latter’s engine being revised along the lines of the new design at the same time. Named ‘Golden Flash’, the new 650 was strikingly finished in pale beige metallic. Ever since the model’s introduction enthusiasts have commonly referred to the touring A10 as the ‘Golden Flash’, even when it was finished in alternative colour schemes, as is the case here.
