Honda CBX1000A 1980

Here we have a lovely example of Honda’s 1980’s flagship CBX1000A, imported in from America in 2015 in the stunning rare black colour scheme that was reserved for their market. We have a copy of the American title and a number of UK MOT certificates. The CBX has upgraded Hagon rear shocks as well as the improved alternator conversion fitted, we have the original shocks and these will come with the bike, the standard regulator is also still in place and ready to be converted back if the usability of the alternator conversion is not your thing. Overall a great usable classic in original condition.

First introduced in 1977, the sensational, ground-breaking, six-cylinder Honda CBX 1000 literally revitalized Honda’s then outdated image. The bike’s design is credited to the remarkable engineer Soichiro Irimajiri. His avowed goal…technical originality at any price and a power output of at least equal to 100hp per liter.

The CBX was headed for stardom right from the drawing board as Honda’s flagship model with fit and finish unparalleled in mass production. While massive in size and performance, the silken six-cylinder engine provided the ultimate in smooth delivery of power and turned the CBX into a “grand tourer” with a 135mph sporting alter-ego.
