A wet Mallory did not dampen the spirits of the Pre-injection teams participating in the FSRA Wintec Championship bank holiday Monday meeting. With a full grid of sidecars with over two thirds of the grid being Pre-injection teams it was two wins out of two for both Rob Fisher/Sarah Stokoe F2 class and Simon Horton/Jordon Forrest in the F1 class. In the rain and windy conditions Fisher with new passenger Sarah Stoke on is Baker 600 Yamaha not only won the Pre-injection F2 class but took the chequered flag in front of the more modern machined club racers in both races.
Shaun McCain, Maverick Davies showed they will be a force to be reckoned with on their Ireson 600 Yamaha having two second places. Novice team of brothers Liam and James Saunders, Ireson 600 Yamaha proving their potential with two thirds in the F2 class just edging in front on the finishing line by the second F2 novice team of Bob Dawson Sarah Hulme Derbyshire 600 Yamaha. The championship sponsors Wintec team owner Horton and Forrest 1100 Suzuki having both F1 class race wins with Dave Tibbles, Raitch Greenwood DDR 1100 Suzuki with two second places. Martin Best, Kenny Cole with the third places on his Wintec 1100 Suzuki.
Thank you to EMRA and their Marshals for putting on their first 2021 meeting successfully in such atrocious conditions.
DCM Race report:
Coming from the classic sidecars this was our first experience with the more modern wet weather tyres so we were encouraged to qualify in 4th position in the FSRA pre-injection F2 class, with a 4th in the race just missing out on 3rd by 0.4 of a second after a race long battle with the Saunders boys it made braving the weather worth it. Unfortunately a broken chain took us out of the running in the second race after making a great start!
Big thanks to all the people involved in getting the meeting to go ahead!
